How to Edit CSS in WordPress: The Definite Guide
Adding CSS can give you scopes to do more than the presets that come with the theme.

Using Theme Customizer:
You can add custom CSS directly from the themes customizer.

Using the theme customizer is the easiest method of all. Follow the steps to use this method.

Log in to your WordPress admin panel.

Head over to the Themes and then select Customize, and it will take you to the theme customizer.

You will have a live preview of the site and a list of options on the left. Choose Additional CSS among them.

You will see a simple box for writing CSS. Now add the custom CSS and see if the changes meet your desired result.

After finishing with additional CSS, you must press publish to let the changes work.

Changes will stay with the specific themes.

The additional CSS will not remain if there is a change in the theme.

If you follow this procedure, make sure that you don't change the theme

Adding Custom CSS Using a Plugin:
You can use an additional plugin from the WordPress store. There are plenty of them, but we prefer using Simple Custom CSS.

The benefit of using an additional plugin is the changes remain whether or not you change the theme.

Follow the steps below:

Log in to your WordPress dashboard.

Go to plugins and select ‘add new’.

Search for Simple Custom CSS in the search box.

Click Install Now and activate the plugin afterward.

Now from your WordPress dashboard, click on the Appearance and select Custom CSS.

Write down the additional CSS in the box.

After finishing, press the Update Custom CSS to make the changes occur.

Using this method, you will see custom CSS in action to your WordPress site. And the changes will stay there.

Using a Child Theme:
This method is a bit advanced. But making changes to the child theme may not crash your site. A beginner should not apply custom CSS to the parent theme files. So a child theme is the best place for getting started.

Follow the steps below:

Log in to your cPanel

Navigate to the WordPress folder and go to the wp-content/themes folder.

Go to the dedicated sub-folder named the same as the theme's name.

Open the style.css file with the cPanel file manager by clicking edit.

Add the custom CSS and save the file.

If you are not comfortable with the cPanel editor, you may download the file and make changes.

Then you have to replace the file in the theme folder by uploading it.

The best benefit of the child theme is it can override the parent theme.

To Conclude:
Knowing how to use custom CSS will make you a WordPress ninja.

Now you have known how to edit CSS in WordPress.

CSS covers the style section of your website. Being able to use custom CSS will help you to make your design more unique and eye-catching.
